Willis McGahee signed a contract with the Cleveland Browns Thursday.
McGahee has joined the team a day after the Browns traded running back Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts for a first-round pick in the 2014 draft.
McGahee is scheduled to play Sunday when Cleveland goes up against the Minnesota Vikings, according to NFL.com.
The running back, McGahee, started for the Denver Broncos the past two seasons, but was released in June.
McGahee suffered a season-ending knee injury last year that prevented him from playing the last two months.
Last season, the Pro Bowl athlete rushed for 731 yards in 10 games for Denver. In his nine-year career in the league, he has racked up a total of 8,097 yards.
Earlier this month, McGahee had a tryout with the New York Giants, but the organization elected to sign familiar Brandon Jacobs to fill their vacant spot.
