In addition to the world premiere of the Jimi Hendrix biopic starring Andre Benjamin this month, a new documentary, Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train A Comin’ featuring never before seen footage of Hendrix is also being released.
According to Broadwayworld.com, Experience Hendrix LLC and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will release, on DVD and Blu-ray, the expanded home video edition of the American Masters documentary, Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train A Comin’ combined with a host of never before released special performance features, on Tuesday, November 5, 2013.
The site reported the documentary to have recently uncovered film footage of Hendrix at the 1968 Miami Pop Festival and is among the previously unseen treasures featured in American Masters.
Hear My Train A Comin’ follows the guitarist’s amazing journey from his hard beginnings in Seattle, through his tour as a U.S. Army paratrooper, unknown backup to R&B stars such as Little Richard, Joey Dee and the Isley Brothers, to his discovery and ultimate international stardom.
A sneak peek of the Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train A Comin’ came online Wednesday via Rolling Stone, which you can watch in the video player below.
