“Sleepy Hollow“ debuts tonight on FOX with its pilot episode of the new mystery-adventure drama television series, which stars Nicole Beharie as Abbie Mills, Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane, and Orlando Jones as Captain Frank Irving.
The series is considered a ‘modern-day retelling’ of the 1820 short story, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” by Washington Irving.
After dying, being resurrected, and pulled somehow, through time two and a half centuries later, Ichabod Crane finds himself in modern-day Sleepy Hollow, where he quickly realizes that his evil nemesis has awoken with him. When Sheriff August Corbin is killed by the infamous Headless Horseman, Ichabod forms an unlikely bond with Detective Mills, a young cop who has been dealing with her own childhood supernatural experiences. Together, the two embark on a mission to stop evil and uncover mysteries dating back to the founding of America. Captain Frank Irving is very skeptical about Ichabod’s tales of supernatural evil. But when Ichabod’s former wife, Katrina, provides clues about impending evil, they all begin to realize there’s really something evil haunting the town.
