Lavelle Hawkins Completes Circus Play in 49ers 41-6 Victory over Chargers

The defending NFC champions finished their preseason in spectacular fashion Thursday night, as the 49ers slaughtered the Chargers, 41-6, at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.

San Francisco took a 17-6 lead before halftime and then pulled even further away, adding 24 unanswered points in the second half. The 49ers defense shut down San Diego’s offense to 219 yards in the game, including 105 yards through the air.

Colin Kaepernick was particularly impressive on his only drive for the 49ers, but wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins  stole the show with his circus touchdown. Hawkins had to fight his way onto the San Francisco 49ers roster this season, but after this play, his fight may have gotten a little easier. Watch as Hawkins tips a pass to himself, then proceeds to slip through the grips of Chargers like he was coated in grease. Check out the amazing touchdown above.
