Eagles general manager Howie Roseman spoke to the media on Monday, and talked about which quarterback on the team has a chance to win the starting job.
Roseman also talked about whether Vick knew that training camp would determine who the starter would be once the season begins.
“Every conversation I’ve had and everyone in this building has had with Michael was about competition, he’s all for it,” Roseman said via PhillyMag.com. “He wants the best players to play and he’s not shying away from competition in any aspect. He knew that when we signed him — he knew there was going to be competition at every spot — and he said nothing other than he wants to compete.”
Back in minicamp, Vick said it was difficult to split first-team reps.
“It’s tough,” he said during minicamp. “I have to continue to be a professional and put my feelings and emotions to the side and just continue to compete. But it’s hard. I would be lying if I said it wasn’t, but that’s just what I have to deal with, and I’m going to keep dealing with it until I see otherwise.”
Vick will compete with second-year player Nick Foles and rookie fourth-round pick Matt Barkley.
