Gun Control: Obama’s Passionate Plea for New Legislation

President Obama has made a passionate appeal to lawmakers to vote on gun control legislation.

He said his three priorities in gun legislation – strengthening background checks for gun purchasers, banning military-style assault weapons and limiting ammunition clips to 10 rounds – deserve a vote in Congress.

Speaking at Connecticut’s University of Hartford, an hour from Newtown where 26 died in a school massacre in December, Obama said citizens must demand action.
