HBO Confirms 'Game Of Thrones' Season 4

HBO has just confirmed that Game of Thrones will continue to ravish the airways for a fourth season. The show is based on the bestselling book series by George R.R. Martin with stories of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years and only the lust for power is eternal.

Game of Thrones will return with 10 new episodes next year. Details of the new season have not been announced, but Thrones is suspected to take material from Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” saga and “A Storm of Swords.”

Thrones third season debut on Sunday to record breaking numbers, delivering 4.4 million viewers on the first showing and an additional 6.7 million after the reruns aired. Despite the shows massive budget of $55 million per season, the series suffers no budget woes considering its popularity and what it’s makes internationally and in DVD sales.

The Golden Globe and Emmy award winning series airs exclusively on HBO on Sundays 9:00pm ET/PT
