Janet Jackson has again participated in one of her favorite pastimes – marrying in secret. The “That’s The Way Love Goes” singer, 46, confirmed she recently wed Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana, 37, in a private ceremony. This is the third marriage for Jackson. She was previously wed to James DeBarge and Rene Elizondo, marriages that were also kept tightly under wraps.
“The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year, we were married in a quiet, private and beautiful ceremony,” the couple told Entertainment Tonight in a statement on Monday. “Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children’s charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy.”
No word on whether formerly estranged niece Paris Jackson attended the ceremony.
Beyonce Gets Custom Anaconda Skin Sneaker
In case we needed any further proof that 2013 is the year of Beyonce, the diva has now landed her own custom sneaker. PMK, the company that created Jay-Z’s custom Air Jordan 1 sneakers, has now made one for Bey as well. The white sneakers have been gifted with an appropriately excessive name, the “King Bey” Isabel Marant Sneaker Wedge, and even got a press release.
In a statement, PMK discusses the sneakers’ design, “A hybrid of land and sea skins are used to create this handcrafted creation. Stingray, ostrich, calf’s fur, crocodile, and anaconda give the already impeccable design attitude, and the tones of white mixed with gold stitched details produces a feeling of elegance, mimicking the Southern belle’s sweet and fierce persona. That’s right, Beyonce will now be rocking anaconda skin – because plain python skin is for commoners, clearly.
