Looks like everyone wants to call Margo Martindale “mom” these days. Martindale was recently cast in a new CBS television series where she’ll play mother to Will Arnett.
The proposed new CBS comedy series snatched Will Arnett from his flailing NBC comedy, Up All Night. Per TheHollywood Reporter, the actor will play a recent divorcee whose world is turned upside down when his own parents split as well. Martindale’s character moves in with her ailing son shortly after her husband of 43 years decides to take off too.

Reports on Perez Hilton recently revealed that Arnett is pulling out all the stops to get Poehler back. For good reason too – Not only do the couple have two young children, but with her popular performance on NBC’s Parks and Recreation and recent success hosting the Golden Globes, Poehler proves to be quite the catch.
Anyway, back to Martindale! The actress is most known for her Emmy winning role as matriarch Mags Bennett on Justified, where she ran a marijuana business with her three sons.
These days Martindale is busy playing mother to Nick Miller (Jake Johnson) on New Girl, as well as wrapping an eight episode arc on The American’s. She also appeared in the box office bomb Beautiful Creatures and just finished filming August: Osage County.
Get used to seeing Martindale’s mug on your TV, looks like she’s here to stay.
