The newly re-vamped show Up All Night, is losing one of its star players. It was announced this week that Christina Applegate will be leaving the NBC series.
Up All Night is currently under a creative makeover. The single camera comedy will now be filmed in a multi-camera style and in front of a live audience.
In a recent interview Applegate said “It’s been a great experience working on ‘Up All Night, but the show has taken a difference creative direction and I decided it was best for me to move on to other endeavors. Working with Lorne Michaels has been a dream come true and I am grateful he brought me into his family. I will miss the cast, producers and crew dearly and I wish them the best always.”
The news of Applegate’s departure came just weeks after the shows creative director, Emily Spivey, announced she would be leaving due to “creative differences“.
No official statement has been made by NBC involving Applegate’s departure, however, sources have said the show will go on as planned and possibly and Friends’ Lisa Kudrow, who played the lovable, but flighty Phoebe may be on tap to replace Applegate. More details coming soon…
