Your Child Smiles When You Use Encouraging Phrases

Do this, do that, you need to, don’t do that, and what are you doing, can often be the only words we as moms feel we say all day to our children. This often leaves us feeling as though we spend our day ordering them around rather then encouraging them. Do you ever feel this way?

We place focus on what needs to get done or how we want them to behave rather then who they are.  I wonder what would happen if we placed focus on using encouraging words instead of barking those orders at our children if it would inspire them to do more, behave better, and maybe even use their manners on a regular basis.

PositiveParenting.com says that “True encouragement focuses on the deed, not the doer. It motivates a child from the inside to demonstrate similar positive behavior in the future, and to value things like hard work, improvement, teamwork and perseverance.”

Encouraging words can be as simple as using one of theses 27 encouraging phrases we found over on the Positive Parenting website:
