It was only a matter of time before Olympic gold medalist and endearingly dopey heartthrob, Ryan Lochte, got his own reality TV show. His new show, What Would Ryan Lochte Do?, will be premiering on E! this April. E! is home to some of the biggest shows in reality television, like Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Ice Loves Coco and Married To Jonas, so it’s only fitting Lochte’s show landed here.
According to The Hollywood Reporter,What Would Ryan Lochte Do? will follow Ryan in Gainsville, FL as he trains for the 2016 Olympic games in Rio. In addition to his strict training regimen, viewers will also get a peak into Lochte’s colorful social life, meet his outspoken family, and gawk at his 150 pairs of sneakers.
“Ryan Lochte captured everyone’s attention at the Summer Olympics with his athletic prowess and his utterly unique and unaffected approach to life,” said E! Entertainment president Suzanne Kolb. “He is an incredibly endearing personality who is sexy, entertaining and fun. Watching this show, I believe people will fall into three categories: They want to be him, sleep with him or mother him.” I’m guessing there will also be a category of viewers laughing at him, err, with him.
This isn’t Lochte’s first foray on television. The Olympian has made cameos on 90210 and 30 Rock since coming into the spotlight at the 2012 Olympic games in London. As seen on Deadline.com, Lochte made his debut on E! as a correspondent for Fashion Week.
While I highly doubt that What Would Ryan Lochte Do? will be intellectually stimulating, it will still prove highly entertaining.
