Lindsay Lohan still hasn’t learned as the actress was a no-show for her court appearance scheduled for Monday, Jan. 7, where she was to face charges for allegedly punching a psychic in the face. Meanwhile, her mom was quick to defend her daughter as she claimed Linday’s father is the reason she is so “screwed up.”
The 26-year-old actress loves her parties, and apparently she loves them enough to skip her day in court.
Luckily for her, however, prosecutors delayed the hearing and may not even pursue the case any further.
“It may very well be this case does not move forward,” said Lindsay’s lawyer Mark Heller who was present for the star’s New York court date. “Ironically a psychic fortune teller has predicted the year 2013 will be an extremely lucky year for Lindsay Lohan.”
Although her poor decisions are still haunting her, it does seem like lady luck is on her side this time after several witnesses are supposedly reporting that the “Liz and Dick” actress did nothing wrong on the night in question.
Heller claims that the defense team has gathered several “very credible evidence and testimony” that severely damages the psychic’s case and suggests that Lohan “did absolutely nothing wrong [and] had made no contact with the alleged victim.”
Lindsay’s lawyer has even used the alleged victims own occupation against her in the case, suggesting that if Tiffany Mitchell was the psychic she claimed to be she would have seen the Lindsay beatdown coming.
Mitchell accused the actress of punching her at Avenue Nightclub late in November last year, but Heller says a quick look into the future would have prevented her from walking up to Lindsay in the first place.
“From my understanding, Lindsay was being approached by a fortune teller who sought to provide a reading to her and she politely said ‘I don’t want to participate’ and declined,” Lindsay’s lawyer explained. “You would think if [Mitchell] was a fortune teller, she would have been able to see this happening in advance but obviously her skills weren’t that honed.”
Her lawyer may have a point, but where was the starlet during all this? Partying it up all the way in London.
A few days before Lohan was a no-show for her court appearance, she was paid $100,000 by Prince Haji Abdul Azim to make an appearance at a New Year’s Eve bash across the pond in London.
The “Mean Girls” actress had plenty of time to go to the party, get paid, and still make it back to the States for her court hearing, but she decided a few more days of partying were needed.
Just two days before she was supposed to be in court, she was photographed stumbling out of a London might club at 5 in the morning. The outrageous parties apparently left quite a mark on Lindsay who was photographed with bruises all over her left arm whilst leaving the party.
While the case of the psychic punch is still under investigation, Lindsay’s mom has been on her own case trying to point out why her daughter is so screwed up.
In a shocking interview, Lindsay’s mom Dina stated the obvious – the source of Lindsay’s problems is her parents and one parent in particular.
“Lindsay saw her dad abuse me,” Dina explained. “That’s why she’s so screwed up.”
According to Lindsay’s mom and party partner the troubled starlet witnessed the violent relationship between her mother and father and it has left her scarred.
She recalled a time back in 1986 when her then husband was driving drunk and high on coke. According to Dina, the couple sat down together at a restaurant and Lindsay’s father, Michael, start snorting coke at the table.
After their dinner Michael suddenly started shouting in the car and telling his then wife to “Get the f**k out of the car.” Before Dina could react, he punched her in the face leaving a dark bruise on her cheek.
In addition to beating her, Linday’s mom also accused her ex-husband of raping her while her children were in the other room sleeping.
They were separated at the time, but supposedly Michael was begging to come back into her life.
“He said, ‘I love you and I want to be with you,’ but then it went dark. It went dark really quick,” Dina said as she recalled the tragic night.
She went on to explain that her children were in the other room asleep and although she wanted to scream, she refused to wake up the children.
“[They] were sleeping, and I just knew I had to stay quiet – I don’t want to wake them,” She explained.
Later, she was taken to the hospital where her clothes were gathered in a rape kit and she was examined by doctors for signs of sexual abuse.
If you ask Michael, on the other hand, he claims the sex was consensual that his ex-wife has simply lost her mind.
One thing is for sure, there isn’t one person to blame for Lindsay’s mistakes. In fact, it isn’t just her parents fault either.
At a certain age, the actress needs to stop letting her past dictate her future (or using her past as an excuse to make poor choices).
While her past was certain a rough one to handle, that had nothing to do with her deciding to get drunk in London instead of showing up in court.
It also has nothing to do with the charges she got slammed with back in June because of a car accident. Lohan was charged with obstruction of an officer, providing false information, and reckless driving.
If things keep going the way they are headed, Lindsay’s future will be much more tragic and heart breaking than her past.
