A brand new trailer has been released for the indie film, Aftershock, showing just how wrong a vacation in Chile can turn out. Although the movie is a fictional horror-thriller, it’s based on true events from the 2010 8.8 earthquake that devastated the South American country.
Aftershock follows a group of American tourist who travel to Chile for vacation. While there, the tourist run into two Chilean guys who help them meet girls and have a “good night.” They venture to Valparaíso to go party with their new friends, however, the night takes a dangerous turn when Mother Nature intervenes. A massive earthquake erupts, destroying the club and trapping the clan. Once the group manages to free themselves from the rubble, things seem to get a lot darker and bloody when human nature takes over.
The horror film stars Eli Roth, Andrea Osvart, Ariel Levy, Nicolas Martinez, Lorenza Izzo, and Natasha Yarovenko. There are rumors swirling around suggesting Selena Gomez may be making a cameo appearance in the movie, but that has yet to be confirmed by the studio. The movie is directed by Nicolas Lopez based on a script form López, Eli Roth and Guillermo Amoedo.
Aftershock , which debuted at the 2012 Toronto Film Festival in September, should shake into U.S. theaters some time in 2013.
