Will.i.am has responded to Tulisa’s claims that ‘Scream & Shout’ was originally her song, not Will.i.am’s and Britney’s.
Tulisa had apparently co-written the song and recorded it, originally titled ‘I Don’t Give A F**k’, for her own album The Female Boss.
A source told The Sun, “The song was due to be Tulisa’s third single from her album until Will told his protégé Jean that he wanted the beat for him and Britney.”
Now Will.i.am has given his side of the story, saying that although Tulisa did record a version of the song, the producers just didn’t want her to have the beats.
He told MTV, “She [Tulisa] wrote to that song [Scream & Shout] before I did – this is the truth.
“But the producers of the beat – two brothers from Belgium called Lazy Jay – didn’t want her to have it, so I wrote to it and Britney is the only person I ever had in mind.”
