New 'Admission' Trailer Starring Tina Fey And Paul Rudd

Deadline.com just released the new trailer for Admission, a comedy/ drama starring Tina Fey and Paul Rudd. Fey plays Portia Nathan, a straight laced, single Princeton admissions officer. While on a recruiting trip to an alternative high school, she runs into old friend John Halsey, played by Rudd. During Portia’s visit, John introduces her to one of the students, who he thinks might be the son she secretly gave up for adoption 18 years prior.

Before the trailer, I’d heard nothing about the movie. You’d think with comedy all-stars Tina Fey and Paul Rudd there would be some major buzz about it. Fey and Rudd are arguably two of the funniest celebrities out there (Fey is my personal idol) and I’d pay big bucks to see any movie with them starring, especially oppostite each other. Unfortunately, something seemed to be missing from this trailer. It only  incited a few chortles and just sort of pulled on my heart strings – I would expect a little more from About A Boy screenwriter Karen Croner. The trailer definitely didn’t leave me dying to spend a week’s pay on seeing it in theaters. Perhaps I’ve set the bar too high for Fey and Rudd, assuming everything they’re in is an instant  hit. Thankfully, this was only a trailer and I’ll can blame shoddy editing choices instead of the actors abilities. I will definitely still give the dynamic duo the benefit of the doubt and see the film. Hopefully the next trailer has more momentum than this first one.
