Swizz Beatz is the latest celebrity getting hit by the IRS. The federal government has filed a lien against Swizz for unpaid taxes from 2010.
According to TMZ, he owes $98,246.10 and the lien tacks on another $2.6 million. The hit producer has a lengthy history with the IRS. Earlier this summer, the government filed a $652,727 lien against him for unpaid income taxes from 2008. On Monday, the IRS filed a $283,562 lien against Swizz Beatz with the New York City Register. The state of New York also filed a $134,738 lien against him and his ex-wife Mashonda last month.
Swizz and Mashonda have had additional liens filed against them in Georgia and California. No word from Swizz’s camp about his tax woes. Perhaps the producer has been too busy with his charity work to deal with Uncle Sam.
The New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation has announced that Swizz will be working with their philanthropic organization to raise awareness for underserved populations. His official title is an HHC Global Ambassador. “As an artist, I understand the important role that art can play as part of the healing process,” Swizz said of his new role. “In life, it’s important to give back, so I am honored to partner with New York City’s public hospitals in their mission to provide quality healthcare for all New Yorkers.”
The HHC also released a statement about the partnership. “Swizz Beatz is committed to using his creativity, innovation and international stature to help spread the HHC message on a global scale to promote better health in our city and our world,” said Joe Schick, executive director of The Fund for HHC.
