Meek Mill is living out his dreams and nightmares. While his debut album just dropped this week, the Maybach Music signee was also faced with the harsh reality of being a rapper in the spotlight when he was detained by cops on Wednesday night in Philadelphia.
The 25-year-old MC was scheduled to celebrate the release of his album at a party in Atlanta on Halloween, but his plans were deferred after a run-in with cops in his hometown.
“Cops cost me a lot of money tonight …..taking pics of me like I’ma f*ckin joke….no charges just holding,” tweeted Meek along with a photo of himself in handcuffs. “Ni**a I ain’t get knocked they was just tryna hold me back!”
However, despite reports, he was not arrested or charged with anything. “I ain’t get locked up…definitely not in NYC with no gun! Cops just harassed and violated me last night in Philly just for being famous!” he wrote.
“The crazy part about is I really had a handcuff and Rolex on my wrist yesterday,” said Meek, whose album cover features images of a Rolex attached to a handcuff.
His album release party has subsequently been pushed back. “Atl I’m get another date for the album release party! They had me down all last night for nothing! Let u kno soon!”
