James Bond may be revamped in the future with its first black 007 spy. Actress Naomie Harris will star alongside the current Bond, Daniel Craig in “Skyfall”. Harris who recently worked with Elba revealed that he may be closer than we all thought to landing the role.
She told HuffPost Black Voices, “I didn’t realize that there was this talk and then I did a film with Idris and he said that he met Barbara Broccoli [James Bond producer] and that it does seem like there is a possibility in the future that there could very well be a black James Bond. And I would have to vote for Idris because I just finished working with him and he’s a great guy. [Laughs]”
Meanwhile Harris revealed after completing Bond and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (her film with Elba) she has no other projects on the horizon but anticipates a nice holiday.
“No, not at the moment. I did Bond which was nine months long, then I took a two day break and went off to South Africa to film my part as Winnie Mandela. I finished that just over a month ago. And now I’m doing a worldwide tour promoting Bond. So after this is finished my only thoughts are about taking a break and going on a nice holiday.”
“Skyfall” hits theaters on November 9th.
