Bobbi Kristina may not be receiving her multi-million dollar inheritance just yet as her grandmother, Cissy Houston, filed a petition to revise Bobbi’s inheritance payments.
After losing her daughter in February partly due to drug use, the 79-year-old mother of Whitney Houston fears that her granddaughter will have the same fate if she is showered in riches at such a young age.
According to TMZ, Cissy believes that the large inheritance will only expose Whitney’s daughter to “negative influences” such as her father and even her boyfriend, Nick Gordon.
It’s no surprise that Whitney’s mother is weary of Bobbi’s boyfriend after he tweeted a picture of himself showing off a handgun while driving.
Cissy was reported as saying she believes Gordon will “drain Bobbi’s fortune given half the chance.”
As far as Kristina’s father is concerned, he has been known for his excessive drug use and allegedly introduced the iconic R&B and soul songstress to a drug obsessed lifestyle.
Not only does the large amount of money promised to Bobbi Kristina worry her grandmother, but the fact that Whitney’s daughter is the sole beneficiary of her mother’s fortune makes Cissy even more concerned about other people wanting to take advantage of her just to get their hands on her mother’s estate.
The Grammy-award winning gospel singer believes that her granddaughter’s inheritance should be held until she has “significantly matured.”
Both Cissy and Marion Houston have taken legal action too as executors over Whitney’s estate.
The pair filed a petition which stated, “[Bobbi Kristina] is a highly visible target for those who would exert undue influence over her inheritance and/or seek to benefit from respondent’s resources and celebrity.”
The petition also stated that the new revisions for spending the money will be set up to “provide for the proper maintenance and comfort of the respondent, and to prevent the wasting of trust assets.”
Bobbi’s boyfriend, and unofficially adopted brother, has already been making some big purchases included his brand new Camaro that is identical to his old one.
Last month Gordon and Bobby Brown’s fourth child got into a nasty car accident that left Nick’s old Camaro without a front tire or bumper.
When the 22-year-old went on the hunt for a new car, he considered a Maserati but settled for the exact same car he crashed, except this time he opted for dark gray instead of black.
The accident is currently under investigation although at this point in time the details of what caused the crash are unknown.
It was revealed, however, that the couple were arguing at the time of the crash.
