As if trashy television couldn’t get any worse, The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo cast is currently in negotiation to receive higher pay for their entertaining redneck TV show.
After a successful first season and recognizing their new-found fame, Mama June and the rest of the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo cast are demanding a raise from TLC. At this time, the cast only make a collective amount of $4,000 per episode, but they’re seeking that the pay to jump to $10,000. According to reports, the family doesn’t want to take anything less than $8,000 an episode now that the show is popular, which is still a 100% raise.
Although, TLC has the true power in this situation by recognizing that the family probably won’t have anything else to do without their own TV show, but the ratings for Here Comes Honey Boo Boo are strong and a small raise like this shouldn’t hurt the network. Granting the pay raise may make good business sense for TLC. Besides, they’re getting into a trashy television market long before any signs of a bubble being burst.
