ABC has picked up its popular reality series for an upcoming sixth season. The upcoming season of the game show will include its 100th episode milestone, slated to air in 2012-13.
“I’m thrilled that we will hit a major milestone in our sixth season, our 100th episode. We’ll be celebrating all season long with brand new over-the-top courses and the return of Jill Wagner to the ‘Wipeout’ family,” said Matt Kunitz, creator and executive producer of Wipeout.
Wipeout is a reality game show series in which Twenty-four adventurous contestants compete in the “world’s largest obstacle course.” Players of all shapes and sizes (mostly nonathletic) compete in the game designed to make the players’ bodies flip, fall, trip, and wipeout, making the show a great series that the entire family can enjoy.
In the upcoming season, viewers can expect all new obstacle courses, which will reportedly feature bigger and better obstacles than ever before. The Big Red Balls will be back, but the challenging Qualifier will include many new twists and surprises.
In the 2011-2012, Wipeout emerged as the season’s No. 1 show overall for families on the major networks (Adults 18-49 watching with Teens and Kids).
