'Obama's America' Box Office Numbers Are Still Growing…

Obama’s America, which is an anti-Obama documentary about the current US president, has jumped to No. 2 at the domestic box office Monday. According to reports, the film grossed $1.2 million yesterday, a mark in which The Expendables 2 was only able to beat.

Obama’s America only dropped a small margin of 37 percent from Sunday. Grossing $1.2 million Monday, from 1,091 theaters, proves that the film may be heavily sought. Most films on average drop 60 percent or more, from Sunday to Monday. Or maybe conservatives might opt for a quieter time at the theaters so they chose Monday to hit the big screens? Who knows?

The documentary, which is based on Dinesh D’Souza book, claims that:

D’Souza travels to Kenya to interview members of Obama’s extended family as well as to Hawaii and Indonesia, where Obama grew up. He also cites several actions and policy positions Obama has taken to support the thesis that Obama is ideologically rooted in the Third World and harbors contempt for the country that elected him its first black president(Mercury).

D’Souza and John Sullivan, is pushing for an expansion of the film, aiming to get its theater count past 1,800 in the next few days.

“Screens are being added on an hourly basis in response to demand,” said Mark Joseph of MJM Entertainment. “Our job over the last six months was to create interest in the film. The rest is up to the people. Ultimately, they’ll decide the screen count.”

Thus far, Obama’s America has now grossed $10.5 million to become the number on conservative documentary of all time and the No. 6 political documentary overall.
