'Lawless' Red Band Trailer Released: R-Rating Properly Achieved

Have you noticed that there are rarely any R-rated movies in the theaters? When was the last time you saw a movie that had a good amount of blood, sex and violence at the local AMC? Well, the trailer below has the proper amount of ingredients to warrant a red band, and it looks good.

The Weinstein Company presents Lawless, the true story of infamous bootlegging siblings, who made a run for the American Dream in Prohibition-era Virginia.  This red band trailer give a good idea of what’s in store for the Depression-era thriller, starring Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, and Jason Clarke. The trio will play the bootlegging Bondurant brother, who attempts to defend their liquor empire, from corrupt officials and rival gangs.

Director John Hillcoat, delivers a thrillingly vivid slice of American outlaw history, in the epic gangster tale. Nick Cave wrote the script, which is based on The Wettest Country In The World, a novel by Matt Bondurant.

Lawless hits theaters August 29, 2012.
