Lionsgate is steadily building their cast with some able-talent to ensure that the sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is as good, if not better, than the first.
Roger Mitchell is the last to be cast in the film. He will star as Chaff, hailing from District 11, he previously played in the 45th Hunger Games and returns for the 75th Anniversary celebration. District 11, is one of the poorer districts in the nation of Panem. The people of Panem are laborers in the fields of cotton and wheat, and almost everything they grow and pick goes to the Capitol. If they are caught eating any of the crops, they will be whipped. The people in District 11 are also described as having dark brown skin.
The 41-year-old Atlanta based actor is a good fit for the violence that comes with the games. He has had the experience on films such as S.W.A.T., Battle: Los Angeles and The Crazies.
Mitchell joins Alan Ritchson, Bruno Gunn and Meta Golding as the new additions Lionsgate made to the cast this week.
Directd by Francis Lawrence, Lionsgate will be releasing The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on November 22, 2013.
