If things go Donald Faison’s way, he will get his first chance to play a superhero in a Hollywood blockbuster film. Universal Pictures has begun talk with the Skyline star to play team member Doctor Gravity in Kick Ass 2.
Claiming to be a physics professor who invented a device called the Gravity Pole, Doctor Gravity is nothing more than a masked college student armed with a baseball bat wrapped in foil. He joins Kick A$$, an ensemble of superhero misfits to fight crime — much like The Avengers.
If a deal is closed, Faison would join returning cast members Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Nicolas Cage as well as new addition John Leguizamo.
Jeff Wadlow is set to direct and adapt the screenplay from comic book author John Romita Jr. Kick A$$ 2 will begin shooting in Toronto and London in September.
Faison is best known for his long running stint on ABC’s Scrubs and is currently stars in The Exes, which is in its second season on TV Land.
