Today February 9th 2012 would have marked the 49th birthday of Whitney Houston. The late and legendary singer known to many as “The Voice” is remembered by her daughter Bobbi Kristina and unofficially adopted son Nick Gordon with WH tattoos and by the the cast of “Sparkle” – the last film to capture her immense talent.
Hours before her mother’s birthday Bobbi Kristina tweeted,
“Haven’t been tweeting much today, I’m sowwy. I’m REALLY REALLY missing my mommy today. 2morrow is #MOMMYSBDAY of course.” AWWWWWW
“Once it hits 12 am mommy it’s your birthday&I am going2celebrate it2thee fullest!” she added. “Bc YOU deserve it damn it, YOU deaerveNothingburtheBEST!”
How sweet. Whitney’s daughter also shared a photo of her and Nick Gordon’s wrist of a tattoo with the letters WH and doves flying around.
“Tat tat tatted YURP.. 😉 now your truly ALWAYS with us mommy (: we love you @nickdgordon always&forever{<3}”
Jordin Sparks, the lead in the 1976 remake of the same film remembers Whitney as a mother, an icon.
“For me, she took on the mother role because my parents weren’t there. She was always asking: Did I feel comfortable? Did I need anything? I got to work with one of my idols and sing with her, and she even played my mother. I don’t know if anything will ever be as good as this.”
In a separate interview Sparks told CNN that the cast will share the final memories of Whitney, “We got to experience the beauty and the essence and the humility that was Whitney. We have those last moments with her, so we get to speak about that – we get to tell people about her and who she was and what we experienced. And I think that’s important, too, to add to her legacy.”
“Sparkle” will hit theaters on August 17th.
Happy Birthday Whitney, we miss you. 🙂
