New York Knicks Center and NBA Defensive Player of the Year Tyson Chandler is one of 27 world-class athletes who volunteered to pose nude for the forth-annual “The Body” issue of ESPN the Magazine, which hit newsstands today.
Before posing for the magazine, the father of three had one person he had to run the idea by: his wife Kimberly. But after talking it over Chandler, a photographer himself, agreed to do the piece.
“I have the ability to do some extraordinary things in the court. I’m not one of those stand-in-the-mirror type of people,” said Chandler. “I love different aspects of art, and I can appreciate when a photo can be done correctly.”
Other athletes that will appear in the issue include New York Ranger Brad Richards, Bronx fencer Tim Morehouse, the WNBA’s Candace Parker, tennis player Daniela Hantuchova and track star Carmelita Jeter.
