Anthony Hopkins has landed a new role to play Methusaleh in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah.
NOAH is an adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In a world ravaged by the sin of human beings, Noah is given a divine mission to build an Ark to save a pair of all creation from the coming flood.
In the story, Methuselah was the grandfather of Noah, who managed to be the oldest person ever mentioned in the Bible. He was noted in the book as being 969 years old at the time of his death, which happened to be seven days before the infamous flood.
Hopkins, who will next be seen in movies Hitchcock and Thor 2, joins an already impressive cast which include actors Russell Crowe, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Jennifer Connelly, and Douglas Booth.
Production on Noah begins soon and the film is slated to open on March 28th, 2014.
