CNN’s Anderson Cooper comes out in Internet post: ‘The fact is, I’m gay’
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper of Anderson Cooper 360 has announced he is gay through a blog written by Andrew Sullivan of The Daily Beast website. Anderson is quoted as saying, “The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud.”
Anderson explains, “There continue to be far too many incidences of bullying of young people, as well as discrimination and violence against people of all ages, based on their sexual orientation, and I believe there is value in making clear where I stand.”
Anderson says he did not mention he is gay in a recent memoir he published because the memoir is about war and disaster, not aspects of his personal life.
