The music retail gates are open for the second week with more than one album dropping. This week we have new projects from accomplished Gospel singer Bebe Winans, Veteran Kenny Lattimore, Jarrard Anthony and the reborn songstress Cheri Coke.
Kenny Lattimore – Back 2 Cool
Kenny Lattimore followed the pack of veteran artist launching their own record labels for the release of ‘Back 2 Cool.’ It has been four years since the D.C. crooner dropped a solo effort and the forthcoming set took Lattimore two years to finish. His point of view of the new album is “about relationships getting back to a place of reconciliation—finding a new place of ‘cool.’
Cheri Coke & Melo X – X/Coke
Known mainly for her days with legendary recording label, Bad Boy Records, singer-songwriter, Cheri Dennis has since shed her sweet and innocent persona and is now ready to reveal to music lovers the raw, edgy, unconventional songstress that has been waiting to be unleashed. Cheri Coke and Melo-X aka Mustafa, a member of the Romantic Movement, have a chemistry that is more than refreshing for what seems to be a very hot summer. They have been able to successfully fuse together vibrations of soul, electronic hip hop, old school reggae and new school basement party music.
Bebe Winans – America, America
On Grammy nominated Winans latest effort, he embraced his patriotism for the United States with patriotic renditions of “America The Beautiful,” “The Star-Spanged Banner,” and “Ultimate Sacrifice.” “The inspiration for America America is the time we are living in,” said Winans. “Sometimes, we forget that we are all Americans. At sporting events, when the national anthem is sung, everyone stands — black, white, rich, poor — everyone.”
Jarrard Anthony – Ready To Live
After getting over the sophomore hurdle, Jarrard Anthony drops his third album ‘Ready To Live.’ The fourteen track collection from the Nu-Soul Collective member is tied to the journey of characters searching for true happiness and eternal joy throughout the record.
