Bobby Brown plans to wed his longtime fiancé today in Hawaii, the R&B star and ex-husband of Whitney Houston told a crowd at a New Edition concert Sunday night. But the one possible big no show? Brown’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, who may have chosen to stay in New York to work on her upcoming show.
Bobby Brown, 43, told the audience at New Edition’s Father’s Day show at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu that he plans to wed girlfriend Alicia Etheridge on Monday, according to the Star Advertiser. At the concert, LaPrincia Brown and Bobby Brown Jr., two of the “My Prerogative” singer’s children from a relationship previous to his with Houston, came onstage at the concert, along with Etheridge.
But Bobbi Kristina’s absence at Sunday’s concert led to speculation that the 19-year-old will not be in attendance at the nuptials. It’s believed that Bobbi Kristina, Houston’s only daughter who was frequently by her side, will remain in New York to tape her upcoming reality-TV series for the Lifetime network.
Prior to their engagement in May 2010 Brown and Etheridge dated for three years following Brown’s split with Whitney Houston in 2007. The couple have one child together, Cassius, born in 2009.
It was during the annual Funk Fest in 2010 when Brown proposed to Etheridge, who has also served as his manager over the years. Carrying baby Cassius to the stage she was greeted by Brown on bended knee as he presented her with an engagement ring. Bobby Brown has five children, Landon, Bobby Jr., La’Princia, Bobbi Kristina and Cassius.
Calls made to Bobbi Kristina by ABC News were not returned.
