Rodney King Dead – Rodney King, 47, the man whose beatings caught on videotape sparked the Los Angeles riots 20 years ago, was found at the bottom of his swimming pool by his fiance early this morning.
His fiancee Cynthia Kelly called police, but officers were unable to revive him after he was removed from the pool.
According to the LA Times,
Rodney’s fiancée called 911 about 5:25 a.m. and officers pulled him from the pool and began CPR until paramedics arrived and took Rodney to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton where he was pronounced dead at 6:11 a.m
Preliminary information indicated King drowned and no signs of foul play, according to police, but an autopsy will be conducted.
