Gospel singer BeBe Winans is joining Cissy Houston to write their own version off fallen singer, Whitney Houston. Whitney, known as “The Voice” died tragically at 48 years old in February from accidental drowning, heart disease and cocaine use.
Earlier this month Cissy confirmed she’s writing a memoir but was quickly slammed by a family member who accused her of “cashing out” on Whitney’s fame. Cissy’s publisher released this statement,
‘In sharing our story in this book, I hope to give her fans something to treasure, the way we all treasured Whitney. We are still receiving thousands of letters each day from her fans, and I hope reading this book will provide a deeper understanding into my daughter’s true story.’
BeBe Winans, a longtime friend of Whitney said his book will tell the “heart-breaking accounts that led to her ultimate defeat. It will also include photos and personal videos of the singer never released to the public.”
BeBe’s book is set for a July 31st released date.
