Jordin Sparks Releases Whitney Houston Duet 'Celebrate' After Tribute

UPDATE- Jordin Sparks   was a guest on Whitney Houston’s last recording, “Celebrate.” Take a listen below.

The previous day Jordin overcame her pressure to perform for the first time ever Whitney Houston’s most beloved song “I Will Always Love You” at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards. The American Idol winner was on hand with John Legend to pay tribute to the legendary voice who passed away earlier this year in February. Jordin had the pleasure to work with Whitney on her last known film “Sparkle” where she formed a relationship with the iconic singer.

On the red carpet at the awards Jordin revealed the pressure she felt to measure up.

“I’ve actually never performed this song before ever. It’s one of the songs I’ve always been like, ‘Leave that alone,’ so it’s nerve-racking for me,” said Jordin. “It’s a lot of pressure I’m putting on myself, because I want to do it amazingly, but at the same time, whatever happens, I just want to be able to speak through the music.”

In the end, the 22-year old singer-actress was just “honored”, “It’s just very special. I feel very honored to be able to honor Whitney in this way and to sing one of her songs.

What do you think of Jordin’s take on “I Will Always Love You”?
