Donna Summer Loses Battle With Lung Cancer At Age 63

UPDATE-Music legend Donna Summer, who was one of the most important figures of the disco era, reportedly has died of breast lung cancer at the age of 63. The website TMZ is reporting that Summer died at her home in Florida. Her family confirmed the news stating they “are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continue legacy.”

With songs like “Last Dance,” “Love to Love You Baby,” “Bad Girls” and “MacArthur Park,” Summer transformed the musical landscape of the 1970’s, producing hit after hit and giving a face and a voice to a musical form that came to be known as disco.

Donna was survived by her husband Bruce Sudano; their daughters, Brooklyn and Amanda; and Summer’s daughter, Mimi, from a previous marriage.
