We still miss Whitney Houston—but not enough for this: her daughter Bobby Kristina and the rest of the Houston family have reportedly signed a deal with Lifetime for a reality show.
It will be called “The Houston Family Chronicles” and will feature, in addition to Bobby Kristina, Whitney’s sister-in-law and manager Pat Houston, Pat’s daughter Rayah, Whitney’s brother Gary and Whitney’s mother Cissy.
What, no Bobby Brown?
The Houston family has been down this road before—who could forget the train wreck of a show Whitney did with Bobby called “Being Bobby Brown” back in 2005? That show showed us way more of the Houston-Brown marriage than we ever needed to see.
But Lifetime sounded very pleased by its new show.
“The tragic loss of Whitney Houston left a void in the hearts of people all over the world, but certainly none more so than her beloved family,” said Rob Sharenow, executive vice president of programming at Lifetime, in a statement. ”In this series, the multi-generations of the Houston family will bravely reveal their lives as they bond together to heal, love, and grow.”
The word “bravely” has to scare anybody who cares about the Houston family.
As for Bobby, he’s actually working on his own reality show, according to statements he made to the Associated Press. Brown said he questioned the wisdom of his daughter’s involvement in a show, which he wasn’t aware of.
“But I know my daughter will make the right decisions in her life,” he said. “She was brought up right.”
Brown said his own show would focus on his drug-free life with his new woman.
