Kelly Rowland confirmed her departure from UK’s X Factor after only one year of judging the popular talent show. Rowland joined Simon Cowell’s revamped Factor before he launched the US version. It was long speculated Kelly would be fired after several disagreements with fellow judge Tulisa Contostavlos and missing several mentoring sessions with her talent. Despite the rumors Kelly insisted she would love to remain with the show for at least another year. Alas negotiations didn’t work in her favor.
“I love the UK and being part of the show last year. Mentoring the girls was such an incredible experience I will never forget. I would like to thank Simon for the great opportunity and asking me to be a judge last season,” Rowland said in a statement.
Reportedly Kylie Minogue’s sister Dannii Minogue is in the running to replace Kelly and she will focus on her music and film career.
