Spike Lee’s filmmaking style is notorious for a number of reasons (ever heard of guerrilla filmmaking?). But one of his characteristic camera techniques is the sweeping and panning “dolly shot.”
Vimeo user Richard Cruz created “Spike Lee / The Dolly Shot,” a super cut of the many uses of the dolly shot in Spike Lee’s films like “Do The Right Thing” and “Clockers.” The shot used in the films creates an almost surreal take on an otherwise mundane or dramatic scene.
