Matthew Weiner, the creator and executive producer of Mad Men, will take a break from the Emmy-winning series to film his pet project, You Are Here. Starring Owen Wilson and Zach Galifianakis, the comedy movie will be the first big screen film that Weiner has directed.
The story line centers around two childhood friends, played by Wilson and Galifianakis, who return to their hometown after Galifianakis’ character discovers that his estranged father has passed away. After learning about the sizable inheritance left behind, the two 30-something men attempt to abandon their habitual irresponsible behavior to get their lives together.
Wilson and Galifianakis may be working with Parks and Recreation actress, Amy Poehler, who is currently in negotiations for a co-starring role. The movie, which Matthew Weiner is also given credit for writing, is scheduled to begin shooting in May after Mad Men‘s season 5 finale.
