Hannah Minghella, the president of production for Columbia Pictures, has announced today that Bruce Willis has signed on to star in their upcoming action thriller Five Against A Bullet.
The movie centers around a Mexican politician who hires five highly skilled bodyguards from around the world. Their mission is to protect him during a controversial election after his father is murdered by a drug cartel.
Minghella expressed excitement about the film saying, “We have been excited about this project since acquiring the rights last year from Mimran Schur and believe Bruce Willis is the perfect actor to lead this cast. We look forward to moving Five Against A Bullet into production quickly.”
Lorenzo DiBonaventura, Jordan Schur, and David Mimran are producing the movie and Alex Litvak is the writer.
Bruce Willis has been getting plenty of work lately. The actor has numerous other projects that are slated to be released in both 2012 and 2013. That list includes A Good Day to Die Hard, Looper, The Expendables 2, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Moonrise Kingdom, The Cold Light of Day, Fire with Fire and Lay the Favorite.
