UPDATE-The new Dancing With The Stars 2012 cast was finally announced earlier today on “Good Morning America” and it appears Jaleel White is the stand out of the eclectic twelve celebrities for Season 14. Other notables include Sherri Shepherd, one-fourth co-host of “The View” and singer, song-writer legend Gladys Knight.
The fiercely competitive dance-off will premiere on March 19. The following is a compilation of the remaining singled-out celebs along with their dance partners who are itching for the mirror-ball trophy:
Gladys Knight, 67 , an eight-time Grammy Award winner is paired with pro hoofer Tristan MacManus and Martina Navratilova, 55, a former tennis pro, sports commentator will get guidance from Tony Dovolani. These women are the competitions more mature picks of the selection.
Melissa Gilbert, 47, actress-writer-producer, best known for her role as Laura Ingalls Wilder on “Little House on the Prairie,” will dance alongside the ballroom’s bad boy Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Jaleel White, 35, best known for his role as Steve Urkel on the ’90s hit “Family Matters,” is teamed with Kym Johnson. White has since been featured on “House” and “NCIS,” and will soon be hosting a game show on the SyFy network.
Jack Wagner, 52, who had memorable roles in daytime and primetime with “General Hospital” and “Melrose Place,” is partnered with Anna Trebunskaya and Roshon Fegan, 20, Disney Channel star will shimmy with Chelsie Hightower.
And the thirty-something bunch rounding out the coveted crew is Gavin DeGraw, 35, singer-songwriter DeGraw, who sang the theme song to “One Tree Hill,” is paired with last season’s champ, Karina Smirnoff; Donald Driver, 37, Green Bay Packers wide receiver will try his moves with pro Peta Murgatroyd; Katherine Jenkins, 31, an operatic pop star from Wales, is set to dance with pro Mark Ballas; William Levy, 31, actor and former model Levy who made his mark in Jennifer Lopez’s sexy video, “I’m Into You,” has another sexy leading lady—partner Cheryl Burke and Maria Menounos, 33, actress and “Extra” host has three-time “Dancing” champ Derek Hough on her side.
Following the excitement after the announcement Jaleel tweeted his fans that he has more in store than the Urkel dance,
“This ain’t no Urkel dance best believe! Nap time & rehearsal all day today #teamJaleel really? Wow. I’ll work as hard as u push me,” tweeted Jaleel. “1-2-cha cha cha, 3, 4-A-C-L #dwts God look out for ur boy (hands in prayer) Mom this is for you. I love you,” he added.
