Jennifer Aniston and Dennis Quaid are currently in talks to join the cast of The Switch alongside Yasiin Bay, John Hawkes and Ty Burrell.
The Wanderlust actress is up for the role of Mickey Dawson, while the Words actor would play her crooked real estate developer husband.
In the crime drama film, Mickey is kidnapped and held for ransom by two ex-prisoners, played by John Hawkes and Yasiin Bay (Mos Def). Unfortunately for Mickey, her husband views the kidnapping as an opportunity to get rid of his wife and refuses to pay up. This revelation prompts Mickey to team up with their kidnappers to trick her husband out of his money.
‘Modern Family’ actor Ty Burrell holds the role as Marshall Taylor, a married country club member with a thing for Mickey. He witnesses her kidnapping, but can’t decide whether to act or not.
The Switch is based on Elmore Leonard’s novel of the same name. Kidnappers, Louis Gara and Ordell Robbie, appeared in one of Leonard’s earlier books, Rum Punch, which was the basis of Quentin Tarantino’s movie Jackie Brown. The two villains in Jackie Brown were played by Robert De Niro and Samuel L. Jackson.
Directed by Dan Schechter, the film begins shooting in May, while Aniston will appear next alongside Paul Rudd in Wanderlust, which hits theaters on March 2, 2012. Quaid’s ensemble dramedy What to Expect When You’re Expecting debuts in theaters May 23, 2012.
