The highly anticipated return of HBO’s hit drama “Game Of Thrones” for a second season is just around the corner. With the series’ April 1 premiere drawing near, HBO has released the most explicit trailer so far.
Narrated by the scheming eunuch, Varys (Conleth Hill), the minute-long clip previews many of the conflicts set to erupt in the upcoming season.
Extracting from “The Game of Thrones” trailer, we can see that recently crowned King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) continues his cruel immature reign, threatening to kill Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) in front of his court; a clothed and dragon-less Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) makes her own claim to the throne; and Tyrion “The Imp” Lannister (Emmy and Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage) plots to take control as the King’s Hand, explaining that he understands how “the game is played.”
Young Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), in wake of the shocking death of her father Ned Stark (Sean Bean), reminds viewers: “Anyone can be killed.”
“Game Of Thrones” is based on the fantasy book series “A Song of Ice and Fire”, by author George R.R. Martin.
