This is a real jaw dropper. Activision’s’ Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3′ has grossed over $775 million in its first five days on the shelves.
Reports Wednesday (November 11) showed that in just one day of sales, Activision managed to move more than 6.5 million units in North America and the United Kingdom. This means that these sales trump all openings for any movie, book, or videogame ever in history.
The ‘Call Of Duty’ franchise is now the most valuable piece of entertainment worldwide. Having exceeded $6 billion since the first Call Of Duty was released back in October 2003.
Call of Duty is a first-person and third-person shooter video game series franchise, created by Ben Chichoski. The series began on the PC, and later expanded to consoles and handhelds. The earlier games in the series are set primarily in World War II; starting with Modern Warfare, set in modern times, the series has shifted focus away from World War II. Modern Warfare was followed by Modern Warfare 2, set in modern times, and Black Ops, set during the Cold War. Modern Warfare 3, also set in modern times.
