Anne Hathaway has agreed to join the cast of “Les Miserables”, a film which is an adaptation of the classic novel and play. Hathaway will hone her skills alongside Hugh Jackman (Jean Valjean) and Russell Crowe (Inspector Javert).
The actress will play the working-class Fantine.
Tom Hooper, who won an Academy Award for Best Director, will direct the film.
William Nicholson wrote the script and Cameron Mackintosh is producing, along with Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Debra Hayward.
“Les Miserables” will be in theaters Dec. 7, 2012.
Prior to this, Anne Hathaway recently made news when she was selected to play Catwoman in Chris Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.
