Meredith Vieira is out, Ann Curry is in. NBC’s “Today” show co-host Meredith Vieira is exiting her post at the end of June and Ann Curry will reportedly take her place. Meredith exit coincides with Katie Couric who’s also leaving her post at CBS Evening News. Meredith was coincidentally the replacement for Couric five years ago. While Couric may pursue other avenues in reporting, Meredith has stated she hopes to spend more time with her husband and children.
Ann Curry has been a staple with the” Today” show for 14 years as a news anchor. This may be the kind of seamless transition NBC is looking for since the show brought in half a billion in ad revenue last year, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Five years ago many question how the show will survive with Katie gone. Now another five years later Ann Curry faces a similar question. How do you think Ann Curry will stack up to her recent predecessors Katie Couric and Meredith Vieira?
