Police Looking for Three Women and 2 Male Accomplices Suspected In Murder of Black Man Who Was Targeted

It’s been over a month since her husband’s mysterious murder, but a grieving widow hopes surveillance footage will help lead police to his killers.

Nakeeha Young fought tears as she spoke to local station 7News about her late husband, who police say was killed at his vacation home in Lauderhill, Fla., last month after he was targeted in a robbery. He was just 44 years old.

“We would have celebrated our 17th anniversary on March 15th,” Young said of her husband, Emerald Senior. “We had been married for 16 years.”

Investigators said Senior, who was driving a Bentley, linked up with three women in Fort Lauderdale on the night of Feb. 11. Newly released surveillance footage shows him holding hands with one of the women as they stroll down a busy sidewalk, according to the station. Around 6 a.m., video from an elevator at Senior’s apartment complex in Lauderhill shows all four of them walking in as they head to his condo.

Apartment surveillance later shows a woman dressed in red enter the lobby, who police said left the door open for two men to come in behind her. The male suspects were seen running down a hallway, one of them removing a mask from his face as he bolts out of the frame. One of the ladies is seen smiling as she runs down the hall after them.

Senior was found fatally shot inside his unit, authorities said.

“It’s very important for the public to pay attention to this because, from what we can gather from video surveillance, we believe that our victim may have been targeted or maybe it was a crime of opportunity,” Lauderhill Police Detective Kaela Allison told reporters last week. “We do believe that the primary focus was the robbery.”

Police said they believe the group has targeted other men in the area. All five are now wanted for robbery and murder. There’s now a $10,000 reward for details leading to an arrest in the case.

Senior is survived by his wife and two children.
