KRS One is undoubtedly one of the most respected rap artists of all time, but his fans don’t hear much new music from the veteran these days. That’s why the rap world was delighted when DJ Jean Maron dropped a new KRS One track called ‘True School” today.

“How about some new KRS One? Yes, you read that right, and hopefully it hypes you up as much as it does us. Today, the legendary, pioneering wordsmith is back with something brand new for our ears to devour, unleashing a gritty new offering called ‘True School.’
“The track is a menacing, old school-feeling, pure hip-hop joint that finds KRS One doing what he does best, and never letting us down in the process.”
And if getting new KRS One lyrics wasn’t epic enough, the “True School” beat is a hard thumping production that features a sample from the legendary Jimi Hendrix.
“True School” is from DJ Maron’s upcoming project of the same name. The project is scheduled to come out on April 29 and will feature artists such as Mobb Deep, Kool G Rap, Skyzoo, Onyx and Brand Nubian.
