The high flying, highly energetic Chris Andersen aka Birdman has agreed to a one-year extension with two-time defending NBA champion Miami Heat.
According to a source, signing free-agent Andersen was the No. 1 priority for Heat coach Erik Spoelstra and president Pat Riley.
The 34-year-old played a significant role in the Heat’s championship efforts after signing onto the team in January.
His immediate impact helped the Heat complete a 27-game winning streak that ultimately landed another NBA title in South Beach.
Overall, the team was 37-3 in the regular season with Anderson.
